Why Choose Nelworks Green
Will I have to get a new meter or any new equipment?
We offer customers a simple way to help the environment without changing their habits. Because our energy comes from renewable and responsible sources, you can do something better for the environment at a competitive price. You will be contributing to a powerful collective impact that has avoided more than 4 billion pounds of carbon emissions to date.
Why do rates vary?
Who do I call if I have problems with my service?
No. When you choose your green energy supply, your local utility continues to deliver your energy and service your needs the way they always have—meaning the reliability you've come to expect won't change.
If I switch, will my reliability be affected?
What happens if I move?
No. You will not have to make any purchases or changes to the system you currently have. You will keep the meter you have always had and it will be read the same way and on the same cycle. No physical or logistical changes are required because the utility still delivers your energy, reads your meter and services your needs.
Does the utility company get hurt if I switch?
How do I enroll?
Does it cost anything to enroll with a green supplier?
Enrollment is absolutely free. There are no sign-up fees.
Can I really impact the environment?
Will the green supplier rate be lower than the utility’s supply rate?
Yes, green supplier rates may be higher or lower than the utility's rate. On average, despite fluctuations, we have historically provided competitive rates to our customers, since we set our rate offerings each month for each market separately.
It's simple economics. Energy is a commodity that is bought and sold on the open market. As demand fluctuates, so do prices. When demand is low, the wholesale cost of energy goes down. When demand for energy is high, such as during peak summer and winter months, the wholesale cost of energy goes up. The offered variable rate product often reflects this fluctuation. For customers who prefer price certainty, We also offer fixed rate plans, which offer predictability and protection in a volatile market.

Renewable or "green" energy comes from clean sources that are more sustainable, are better for the environment and are spurring local economic development.
No. Utilities do not compete with third-party suppliers. The utility makes its money through the service and delivery of your electricity or natural gas. The utility does not make money on the supply of energy and is not affected when customers switch to a supplier. In fact, most utilities are extremely supportive of energy choice programs and encourage customers to find the supplier that is right for them. For more information on what your utility says about energy choice programs, speak to Nelson Carreiro or look on your utility's website.
To move your service to a new address, simply call your choosen green supplier or your utility with your information.
The same way you always have. You will continue to receive one bill each month from your local utility with Green energy suplier listed. You are still a customer of your utility and the utility will continue to bill you for delivery and service.
If you have any problems, you will contact the utility. The utility remains responsible for the delivery of your energy, as well as for any necessary maintenance and repairs to any lines or meters. The utility also still provides billing, so you will call the utility for any questions about the delivery portion of your bill on things like meter reading, service and maintenance fees. For the supply and electricity or natural gas rates portion of your bill, you will call your green suppliers customer care number

No, solar panels are not able to power your house at night! But you will be paying your utility for a lot less usage. What’s more, when your panels produce more power than your home uses, the utility company will pay or credit you for any excess energy they feed back into the grid.
Since the amount of power your solar system generates is a direct result of sunlight, it will produce slightly less energy when the weather is cloudy. The system will not produce any energy at night. All solar power systems will be interconnected to a local utility grid, so that it can automatically begin to draw power from the grid when needed. You won’t experience any power interruptions—the switch between solar system power and the utility grid happens seamlessly, with no effort on your part.
